Keyboard configuration

I wanted to know how to change the keyboard layout from the terminal
debian has a command setxkbmap -layout dvp but that is giving me an error in arch
plus I wanted to check the keyboard configuration file, in debian it is present in /etc/default/keyboard but in arch I couldn't find it
so where exactly is that in arch?

can anyone tell me how much of a difference there is when it comes to these two distributions, and to learn all these files, filesystems where do I go and what do I do?

Re: Keyboard configuration

setxkbmap -layout dvp

What kind of layout is "dvp" supposed to be?
It doesn't exist, hence the error, check  /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/
