You are not logged in.
/dev/input/js0 recognizes the input so the controller's OK.
On https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Gamepa … figuration the tip says "Input devices by default have input group; for example, pcsx2 have no access to gamepad without rights. Make sure your user is in the input group.", so this might be the fix. However, I don't know how to do what it says and my searching proved fruitless.

Thanks, but nothing changed after I added myself to the input group. PCSX2 still doesn't see my controller's input

Woah, the bug report described the exact same issue as I have.
After launching the game and trying out the controller anyway, it worked perfectly without having to map the controls beforehand.
