Ibus candidate list appears way off from the cursor (GNOME)

I noticed this problem about a week ago. I started typing in Chinese and the candidate list didn't appear. After unmaximizing the window, I found out that the candidate list was appearing below the window which was receiving text input. I know this issue could be related to HiDPI screens, but it was working when I first installed GNOME about a month ago. Also, this issue only occurs in some apps like Firefox, Thunderbird, and Visual Studio Code. In GNOME native apps like Nautilus and Gedit, and some other apps like Libreoffice, the candidate list appears as normal. This leads me to believe it might be related to Wayland. Anyone know how to fix this?
