I was trying to upgrade my archlinux system today, but failed with the following errors:
:: unable to satisfy dependency 'libcap=2.56' required by lib32-libcap
:: unable to satisfy dependency 'libnsl=2.0.0' required by lib32-libnsl
:: unable to satisfy dependency 'libcap=2.56' required by lib32-libcap
I figured out that lib32-libcap and lib32-libnsl were dependencies of Wine. So I uninstalled Wine, and then upgraded the system with:
sudo pacman -Syyu
The upgrade was successful, however, as I tried to re-install Wine by:
sudo pacman -S wine
I got the following messages:
$ sudo pacman -S wine

I then checked the version of libcap:
pacman -Qi libcap
which gives:

Looks like the version of libcap in my system was still 2.53-1. So why libcap was not upgraded, and how do I resolve this issue so that I can reinstall Wine?

Post your pacman.conf. It looks like you only have some of the [testing] repos enabled, you need to use either all or none of them.
Also please edit your post to use

tags instead of quotes.

Hi Slithery,
Thank you very much for your fast reply.
Post your pacman.conf. It looks like you only have some of the [testing] repos enabled, you need to use either all or none of them.

Hi Slithery,
I tried enabling all the testing repos, and I was able to install wine again. Since I was not comfortable going to testing repos, I reverted back to using all non-testing repos which also worked for installing wine. Thanks a lot.
