I've been looking to use Docky again after some long time of trying out other docks and Cairo Dock and Plank have not been filling my needs, especially when it comes to Wayland. But when I try to find the Docky package, it is nowhere in the Arch or AUR repositories. What happened to the program? Did it suddenly get discontinued? Why else is it just scrubbed from all Arch repositories?

It looks like a miscommunication led to the deletion of docky from aur .
Check PRQ#25924[1] and PRQ#25925[2] on aur-requests ML[3] .
Deleted AUR packages are still present in git, so it can be revived.
All it needs is a new maintainer.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Here you have PKGBUILD but you won't build it anyway due to lack of dependencies.

After building gconf gnome-sharp libglade orbit2 gio-sharp gnome-vfs libgnome gkeyfile-sharp libart-lgpl libgnomecanvas gnome-keyring-sharp libbonobo libgnomeui gamin gnome-mime-data libbonoboui notify-sharp
which were all in AUR I was able to build docky using the PKGBUILD from AUR git ( which is the same as you linked to ) in a clean chroot with the listed dependencies installed.

If the docky was in AUR, all you would need to do is run trizen -S docky, and trizen would already pull the required dependencies. But this is a time consuming procedure, it is better to install from cairo-dock or plank repo.

I know it is a long time since the last reply, but I just create a folde named it Docky, put the file PKGBUILD in it from https://github.com/lyhourchhen/Docky and then did a makepkg and it did compile. Of course I installed all dependencies from AUR. I still use this docker and is working.
