So I brushed off my copy of Arch after having uninstalled XP from my laptop. Now, I've installed Arch on this laptop before, and I know how to do some basic stuff (although the damn xorg.conf took me a few days the first time around).
So after installing Arch again, which was pretty simple, I just rebooted and everything went fine. Until I had to login....now I didn't really set up a user directly after installation (I don't remember having to do this before either), so I just thought I would automatically get in and get a chance then. But apparently, I can't seem to access my laptop now, because it won't accept any username and password.
I don't remember this ever happening before. Did I miss something whilst installing? What's wrong?
Thanks.

Hmm...Been a long time since I did a fresh install, but...I think you just log in with the username "root" the first time. Then adduser.
