touchscreen moves the cursor/pointer

I use Xorg. What I want is the touchscreen to have nothing to do with the cursor
this is my touchscreen laptop

HP Pavilion x360 Convertible

so when I use the touchscreen the cursor will go to that place. Is the touchscreen actually needing to do that in the X system for it to work? If so maybe I can create another cursor for touchscreen and make it always hidden.

How do touchscreens work in general in X? Do they need a cursor?

I'm not sure I understand what you want. If you want to disable your touchscreen, that's easy, but if you want to be able to click somewhere without moving your cursor, I highly doubt this is possible, even on other OSs.
