[SELF SOLVED]Touchpad registers but Swaps off on boot

when i use my touch-pad i can touch drag etc some times it loads with my lib-input but mostly it goes to PS/2 Generic Mouse even though i can see DELL0A8C:00 27C6:0D41 Touch-pad! i spent 5 or so hours trying to fix this problem learned xinput as a result put a conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d i even put it down as 10,40,50,60,999,99 -libinput.conf (yes all those numbers are there)

fix:
easy fix just drop a conf file to /etc/modprobe.d/ with the code

blacklist psmouse

You only need one of these libinput.confs but their content is important so you should post those.

What happens if you explicitly

xinput --disable 16

if its on 13 (the Dell mousepad) nothing if its ps/2 aka 16 it disables input but it randomly swaps between the two on boot. im trying to keep 13 running and remove 16 (or make it where my TouchPad can scroll with it. I'll make sure to post those conf files (they all the same)

Some weird typos in there (... HatchIsTouchpad?) did you write this up manually or actually copied the file contents? In any case from the follow up description you'll actually want to fix the way psmouse is being loaded.

Try reloading the psmouse module with : elantech_smbus=0 synaptics_intertouch=0 if that didn't work, try with 1 https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel … le_options (unload the module with modprobe -r first)

Alright im home at my pc now! the code for my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-libinput.conf (I have made this my only one as i have been told the 99 will make it load last) file is as follows

modprobe: FATAL: Module elantech_smbus=0 not found

i managed to fix it myself (like the last problem i posted to the forums!) i disabled psmouse from loading in the first place by dropping a file to /etc/modprobe.d/*.conf (star is a wild card, in my case i used psmouse.conf) with the code

blacklist psmouse

now it works wonderfully!
