And also don't ever use pacman -Syyu unless you really know why you're doing it, use pacman -Syu instead.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

Re: [SOLVED] sudo pacman -Syyu fails with SSL certificate problem

Just a honest question Slithery, why do you say "...don't ever use pacman -Syyu unless you really know why you're doing it..."  My understanding is that: [Passing two --refresh or -y flags will force a refresh of all package databases, even if they appear to be up-to-date.]
What else can it do to cause problems? A waste of bandwidth or unnecessary use of Archlinux resources? Once again my question is not intended as facetious, I really would be interested to know.
Thanks.

See Tips and tricks and Troubleshooting at:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Pacman/Package_signing

Also, are you using Reflector or similar tool?

https://archlinux.org/packages/community/any/reflector/

In reply to whether or not I'm using Reflector, no I'm not.

Thanks @zpg443, and to Slithery for the reply(s). Apologies if I have hijacked this thread.

Cheers.

Re: [SOLVED] sudo pacman -Syyu fails with SSL certificate problem

Thank you very much!

I used
reflector --latest 20 --protocol https --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
and then everything went fine!
