What happens to DKMS after kernel 5.7?

I'm reading the Anbox wiki page and in the Prerequisite section there is a note saying

The dkms modules do not work on kernels ≥5.7 anymore.

I couldn't find any docs/posts about why. DKMS works fine on other distros. So I'm wondering what happened to DKMS or Arch Linux kernel after 5.7.

Thanks.

Re: What happens to DKMS after kernel 5.7?

Because the modules are in mainline now, and the out-of-tree dkms ones have been phased out and thus are no longer maintained (read: were not updated for 5.7 and higher)
