Hi, I am struggling to get my headset's microphone working via the front jack of my PC. The headset is detected and not muted, but for some reason it doesn't pick up my voice. Instead it captures the sound I play on my PC. So if I play a video I can see it in the visualizer in Slack's audio configuration, or hear it in Skype's echo service.
Initially I started with ALSA/pulseaudio, after a lot of debugging I switched to pipewire now (+pipewire-pulse). Unfortunately the issue persists.
The headset is plugged into the front jack of my PC, which has a ROG Strix B550 E-GAMING motherboard, the sound card is:

My setup in pavucontrol:
- I set the profile of this card to Analog Stereo Duplex.
- Under Input Devices I selected "Front Microphone (plugged in)" as port, the port is not muted, I have also verified this in alsamixer.
- Under Output Devices I selected "Headphones (plugged in)" as port, the sound works fine.
I am using a Sony headset - I can look up the model name if it matters but as the headset is working fine on both my laptops I don't think it is relevant for debugging this issue. I will gladly provide any more infos that might help to troubleshoot this issue though.
Hoping to get some ideas or hints where to look since I am really out of ideas. Thank you in advance!

Check under Recording tab, make sure first that your applications are not set to "Monitor of [Built-in Audio Analog Stereo]"

I just checked, it is set to "Starship/Matisse HD Audio Analog Stereo", not to monitor. The volume meter for "Front Microphone (plugged in)" reflects the sound that I play back on the PC for some reason.

Loopback mixing is disabled so that shouldn't be it.
Random shot in the dark, mute the capture control
amixer -c1 set 'Capture',0 off,off
Also because mics claiming they are stereo are often a lie, it might help to mute one or the other channel on the input source.

This returned "amixer: Invalid command!" but I tried it with "0,0" instead of "off,off" and also manually disabled the Capture in alsamixer. This just turned the volume to 0/disabled the input device in pavucontrol.
Muting all other channels unfortunately also didn't do the trick.
