Gnome on Wayland problem with drag and drop

Hi, I can´t drag and drop from Files to Firefox or Chromium when using Gnome on Wayland.
I've found this topics:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=265129
On this one the solution is changing to X11.

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/974
And here it seems to have been solved in Gnome 3.34.4.

I'm using Gnome 40.4.0 on a up to date Arch. Let me know if there's more info that can help
Thanks for any hints

Re: Gnome on Wayland problem with drag and drop

I've just tried dragging and droping from one Files window to another Files window and it crashed.
I see this in journalctl:

sep 17 19:38:15 psyd2-mob gnome-shell[4614]: WL: error in client communication (pid 59727)
sep 17 19:38:15 psyd2-mob nautilus[59727]: Error reading events from display: Invalid argument

Second crash:
sep 17 19:39:05 psyd2-mob gnome-shell[4614]: WL: error in client communication (pid 59791)
sep 17 19:39:05 psyd2-mob nautilus[59791]: Error flushing display: Broken pipe

Re: Gnome on Wayland problem with drag and drop

Are you using Firefox on Wayland or XWayland? Same for Chromium.
Also, do you have xdg-desktop-portal{,-gtk} installed and running?

You're right! I wasn't aware that both FF and Chromium were runnning on xwayland.
I found how to do it in Arch here:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/chromi … nd_support
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Firefox#Wayland

Thanks a lot!
