I am using i3wm on my Arch system and recently changed from dolphin to pcmanfm. Dolphin showed all devices in a dedicated tab and I was able to mount network shares with just one click. All shares are included in my fstab with the user and noauto option. I want this feature back, but pcmanfm shows no devices, as can be seen in the following picture:
Am I missing some dependencies?

From the Wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PCManFM):
"[..] gvfs is recommended for trash support, mounting with udisks and remote filesystems."
Did you install those optional deps?

gvfs and udisks is installed. Do I need to start some systemd units in order to make it work?

I have the same issue with nautilus and thunar, so I don't think its a pcmanfm specific problem.
Edit: The volumes and mounts are shown when the filemanagers are executed with sudo.

Sorry for a thread bump, but I think my situation is much related. When running PCManFM and using the Tools / Network function to access a Samba / CIFS share on a WIndows box, the share seems to be somehow "internally" mounted inside the file manager application, meaning if I open a terminal and type "mount" I won't see it in /media/ or similar mount place. I think this is just the nature of the beast, but I would much like it if someone explained the rule of action to me. I'm a bit confuzed here, to say the very least.

There're multiple SMB client implementations, one of them is the cifs kernel module for "regular" mounting.

Please don't necrobump or hijack threads - the original problem looks like a broken session (last link below) and is more than 4 years old…

Gew, please open a new thread with your issue, and link back to this one if you think it applies. As noted, this thread is old and the OP has not been back since 2019.
