nix-build terminates my session both on console and X

Hi,

I noticed very strange behavior. Both `nix build` and even `archlinux-nix bootstrap` cause my session to terminate after about 10-20 seconds.

When running in terminal window, I get kicked out to GDM.
When running from text console, I get back to empty login screen.

There's no trace of anything either in `dmesg` or `journalctl` output. When watched by `top`, the memory usage stays low until the crash

How could I even investigate it?

Otherwise, the hardware causes no problems in everyday use. I also keep to work on periodically updated system, not older than a month.

There are three choices for a Nix installation, one is supported by Arch Linux, the next officially supported by Nix, and the last not being supported at all.

Which of those 3 methods ( repo package, nix install script, aur package) are you using  ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I had `archlinux-nix` installed, however I've already cleaned all the stuff and will try today with `nix` repo package only.

I tried with `nix` and failed on the channel update:

$ nix-channel --update
unpacking channels...

I had finally to install `archlinux-nix` and bootstrap from there, but this time it did not crash.
