Headphones plugged in but not working.

I have a fresh Arch install and I am using Gnome, only things I've installed is pulseaudio, steam, discord, chromium and qbittorrent. I can't listen to audio through the headphone jack. The speakers work just fine, but I can't listen through the headphone jack. Additionally, when I do try and play something, I heard a sort of a click in my headphones, but when I stop trying to play audio it stops too. Furthermore, when i play something and go to the volume settings in gnome, it shows the volume level and that something is playing, but, I get no sound. Also, I have a laptop(Thinkpad T410) running arch and when I use the same headphones sound comes out of it perfectly. I have 0 clue what is wrong and I have gone into the wiki and even on youtube and nothing is working.

amixer -c0 #might have to adjust that 0 if your card with the jacks is different than 0 check the output of the prev command
pacmd list-cards
pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs

I pasted those commands in verbatim (except i put amixer -c1) and nothing has happened.
Please explain more thoroughly what to do.

Nothing is supposed to happen, you have to post them here so we have diagnostics of what is going on.

Your headphones are unlikely to be on the digital jack. 

pacmd set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_08_00.3 output:analog-stereo+input:analog-stereo

at the least.

I had a similar issue and it turned out that the sound was just going to the wrong output. After changing it to the correct output, everything worked.

There are various PulseAudio and ALSA commands to see what sinks (outputs) you have, which one is active, and change the active one. However I found it easier to simply install pasystray and use its menu to select the sink.

Also I don't use Gnome but it should have a sound settings screen where you can choose the sink, based on https://wiki.gnome.org/Design/SystemSettings/Sound. Have you tried using that? Does it not work?

That shouldn't be the problem, anymore, however there are some weird detection issues going on, on the off chance it's just a wrong profile selection 

amixer -c1 set 'IEC958 Default PCM',0 mute
amixer -c1 set 'Front',0 unmute,unmute
amixer -c1 set 'Line',0 unmute,unmute

That didn't do anything but I still hear the click when I play audio.
