Unable to startx

I did a base install or arch  in virtual box then wanted to get dwm as my window manager so i went through the process of downloading dwm. I went in and made sure i have the put exec dwm in my xinitrc file and made sure xinerama was uncommented from my config.mk file as well . I made sure to install the xf86-video-intel drivers for my pc as well. When i login and run startx i get an error saying xauthority doesnt exist, i looked it up and i got a result  telling me to rename xauthority  but i get an error saying no such display. 0 I also tried running xinit after login but i still get an error, specifically a server error, and an error saying "cannot open /dev/tty0 (permission denied)" I installed base-devel git libx11 libxft xorg-server xorg-xinit and the whole process goes smoothly until I actually try to startx. I dont know if im in the right place for this but i would appreciate some help. Thank you

Please see the last link below and post your xinitrc and edit your ~/.xserverrc
