Hello everybody,
Xorg on my pc using an i5-3570 without a graphics card is crashing, unless I add
> Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" # fallback
to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf.
I've heard that there are some issues with Intel's graphics drivers.
1. Should I just stick with uxa? Test the other drivers? Use modesetting?
2. Should I report this somewhere? It kind of has already been reported in 2013 but nothing ever happened since then.
thanks

use modesetting should pretty much be "the fix" for all sorts of intel weirdness, but what's the xorg/journal crash log? the bug report you linked reads like fglrx which is amd and irrelevant today anyway

How is graphics acceleration on modesetting? Last time I tried it, it was really bad (compositor already took my pc down to ~ 5 fps)

Works fine for my usecases but if you think it's slow then sticking to UXA will probably be best for the time being, if you really want to try a bug report you can do so here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/dri … l/-/issues but the driver is pretty much in development limbo and it's unsure on if or how this will get fixed.

If it's indeed tooslow™ w/ modesetting please post an xorg log for that as well.

I've been using modesetting for a day now and haven't had any major issues. Thanks @V1del
