Intermittent ping fail between two Arch machines on WiFi LAN
I have a desktop and a laptop, both running Arch. I have NetworkManager running on both (no firewalls). Both machines are connected to the same router and are always connected to the internet. However, if I ping one machine from the other, I sometimes get a response and sometimes not. Could you please help me understand why this is happening? Both machines are always successful pinging the router (as far as I know).

WiFi or wire?
Remote NIC sleeping for powersaving reasons and takes a while to get up?
If you ping it indefinitely, does it start w/ a timeout but that starts to and keeps responding?
