Xorg 7.1.1 Upgrade

Hi there,

first of all, everything seems to run as usual - special thanks to JGC for this upgrade (I have been follwing the thread in Arch discussion...).

Anyhow, I am wondering about the following error message I am getting in the Xorg.0.log file:

(EE) AIGLX error: dlsym for __driCreateNewScreen_20050727 failed (/usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri/fglrx_dri.so: undefined symbol: __driCreateNewScreen_20050727)
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering

I am (obviously) using the testing ATI proprietary wink driver package...

Not that I know if the message actually matters (X runs fine)...so what is going on with that AIGLX eye candy?

Cheers,
Blind

I have just error after shutdown KDE:

FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

This error I have from the first day when I installed Xorg 7.0 on the Arch Linux.

Re: Xorg 7.1.1 Upgrade

As far as I'm aware, the ATI driver doesn't support the necessary extensions for AIGLX.  Certainly the nVidia driver doesn't.  Just a waiting game... You could use XGL instead in the mean time.

Re: Xorg 7.1.1 Upgrade

Upgrade is good for me too. Apart from the server, I've got new mouse, keyboard, ati, and evdev modules, synaptics driver, mesa and libgl-dri. All working fine - just the following warnings in the Xorg log:

(WW) AIGLX: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x23
(WW) AIGLX: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x24
(WW) AIGLX: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x25

Re: Xorg 7.1.1 Upgrade

I have those warnings too. I guess changing to 24bit colordepth might take away some of those messages.

AIGLX isn't super yet, I didn't apply the big amount of patches redhat uses to improve performance of it when used for compositing.

Re: Xorg 7.1.1 Upgrade

I have the same warnings with AIGLX and screensaver doesn't work. When I tested it is okay but than doesn't start.

For some people doing some symlinking works out, but with 7.1.1 I don't think that helps.  I guess this is another waiting game.
