after booting from grub i get a black screen and doesnt go to the gnome login screen.
i can still press ctrl alt f3 to get to the terminal screen
i think this has to do with drivers because i installed a new driver for my nvidia graphics card and now this happened

Ok, then tell us about that. Which driver did you install? Do you mean you just updated to a newly released version, or did you actually change drivers? What did you change from? Did you try reverting this change?
You should also post a journal from a boot that results in this black screen.

i installed the nvidia beta driver, then i noticed that in Minecraft it wasnt actually using my card but intergrated graphics so i uninstalled all the beta stuff and reinstalled the normal Nvidia drivers and then boom black screen
where do i get this journal?
Offline
okay i got the journal here it is
https://transfer.sh/toKr7M/journalctl.txt

That journal covers many different boot ups, but yet also seems somehow filtered (each boot's journal is very very short / incomplete). What command was used to generate that? Please use the following, which will also post it to a file sharing site that will not require others download it to view it:
sudo journalctl -b 1 | |& curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io
This will return a ix.io link that you can post here to share the journal.

Had this problem after installing Nvidia drivers.
Had to delete the file: /etc/X11/xorg.conf

didnt work

Maybe the error happen because gnome try to start while the graphic device is not ready.
Enabling KMS could solve your issue : https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel … _KMS_start
If it doesn't work by using the tty post the output of
sudo systemctl start gdm

Why does it say "Oct 15"?
…
Boot, move to a console (ctrl+alt+f3), run
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io
and post the url you get.
Edit: typo'd journalctl.

It's not a misconfiguration but a different boot and the new journal has the current date but no trace of the nvidia driver whatsoever.
The kernel nvidia module isn't there but since nouveau isn't loaded either, it's probably still blacklisted.
pacman -Qs nvidia

Don't post images of text, you now know how to paste it directly.
Why do you have bumblebee installed? This doesn't look like an optimus system?
pacman -Qikk nvidia
Also see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA#Early_loading - esp. the part about adding the modules to the initramfs.

oh that was the problem!! i thought bumblebee was part of the nvidia prime render thing, i removed it and its dependencies and it works now!
