A few weeks ago I tried getting a Qemu KVM with single-GPU passthrough working but failed. So I gave up. The thing is though: Back then a basic VM without any passthrough magic or anything was working. Now nothing is working.
I'm using virt-manager. When I create a standard VM without any passthrough magic and start the installation process I instantly get booted to a black screen. The computer is still running but I can't do anything with it (I haven't tried pinging or sshing yet so maybe linux is still running).
Now I'm at a loss. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm going to give you as much system information upfront as I can.

Alright sorry

Okay so the problem seems to be in libvirt. I tried running a vm just using qemu and that worked.

I was just being stupid. The scripts that I downloaded in the process of setting up the single gpu passthrough did unbind the graphics driver whenever a VM ist started.
