[SOLVED] kernel26 2.6.18-7 - line 138: modinfo: error?

Just updated the kernel and received the errors below:

SUCCESS

Have not rebooted yet. Anyone  have any ideas what happened here? This update was started from the ALUNN applet (http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~s0600552/alunn/), though I cannot see that being a cause of these errors. mkinitcpio was updated to 0.5.7-1 about 6 days ago.

 pacman -Qo `which modinfo`
/sbin/modinfo is owned by module-init-tools 3.2.2-3

just check you have it installed then try kenel again

Thanks Mr. Green....yep, that package is installed.

What would be the correct swirches for pacman to update the kernel again? 'pacman -Ff kernel26   '? I read the man page but I am not sure of the correct command.

Just ran pacman -Syu , no errors with updating the kernel here (haven't rebooted yet).

Just do pacman -S kernel26 .

Pacman will say this :
:: kernel26-2.6.18-7: is up to date.  Upgrade anyway? [Y/n]
just press enter to re-install the kernel.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Erm, how did you not have module-init-tools installed? I'm pretty sure your entire system would be unusable until you reinstalled this (no modprobe)

Sorry phrakture, my response was not clear.

I checked for the package as Mr. Green suggested and discovered it was already installed. I did not have to install it. Afer making the check, I reinstalled the kernel and this time it worked without errors.
