Wiki - SSD chapter

Hi,

I've been reading chapter named :

and I guess I do not understand whether it is about how to check if my Ext. SSD supports TRIM or rather it is about how to force kernel to use TRIM "hidden" but supported by disk ?

May you help me with that?

My interpretation of that text would say "both": sg_readcap and /sys/block/sdX/device/scsi_disk/*/provisioning_mode show what the kernel has detected/is using; sg_vpd is used to inspect the device capabilities.
