[SOLVED] Laptop doesn't automatically lock properly

I'm running KDE Plasma on X11 and my screen turns off after 5 minutes (normal) but it doesn't lock the computer. I can just move my mouse and I'm back in without having to enter my password. If you need any logs, let me know.

Are you logging in through a display manager (like sddm)?

Re: [SOLVED] Laptop doesn't automatically lock properly

How long did you wait? there's a bit of a delay in activating the screen locker to prevent you from having to reauth if the timeout was just due to the screen going black, respectively the screen lock and the DPMS are on a different timer in general. Check your system settings for screen locking behaviour. Should be somewhere under Desktop Behaviour (not on my Arch could give you the exact KCM otherwise)

Yes I think so, I haven't modified the login process much.

I waited a couple minutes, the auto unlock is 5 seconds so I should have been prompted for my password.

Re: [SOLVED] Laptop doesn't automatically lock properly

Just found this message:
Message.

I'm not sure what's wrong as I am not running any torrents.

You can disable KTorrent inhibition in it's settings.

Re: [SOLVED] Laptop doesn't automatically lock properly

I saw that but I would like to leave it on. I don’t have any torrents running though so it shouldn’t trigger, which it does.

The setting works fine here, but with literally no torrents, not sure whether it counts if they are just paused or so.

Alright, I just disabled the setting. I'll enable it once I need torrents. Thanks for the help!
