Alacritty window invisible on kde plasma wayland

I think it broke after updating my packages and rebooting.

Alacritty is working. I can type commands but the window is invisible. I can only make it visible by using meta+arrow key. If I try to drag it, it disappears instantly. When I resize the window with the mouse while it is visible using the arrow key trick the issue is temporarlily fixed. Until it is closed and opened again.

alacritty 0.9.0 (fed349aa)
plasmashell 5.23.3
kf5-config --version
Qt: 5.15.2
KDE Frameworks: 5.87.0
kf5-config: 1.0

Kernel:
5.14.16-zen1-1-zen
Arch linux

I recorded my screen:

Alacritty doesn't seem to report any issues.
How should I investigate this further?
How can I find out if it's kdes fault or alacritty's fault? (or mine)

Re: Alacritty window invisible on kde plasma wayland

This sounds similar to an issue I encountered where my window was incredibly tiny (1x1) at startup, despite my config file specifying the window size. I can drag and resize the window, but every new window, even without my config file, is small.

I opened up an issue on it here, as I think it's a bug in alacritty that popped up with a recent KDE update.

Re: Alacritty window invisible on kde plasma wayland

Actually it was a bug in the linux kernel 5.15.2-arch1-1. 5.14.15 is working without issues. I used intel-drm to bridge while waiting for it to update. Very weird. I did not think that a kernel bug could cause layouting issues. It specifically was a bug with the intel-drm driver.

PS: Woops I didn't subscribe to my own topic. Updated my settings now. big_smile
