Hello,
I am totally new to linux.I followed a youtube tutorial to install arch every step was done as said but I was not able to edit the /etc/sudoers file where you have to uncomment a purticular line.
The text editor that was used was visudo. But when I use it ,it says [ visudo: no editor found (editor path = /usr/bin/vi) ]
After some searching, I found that I can also use Vim Editor. But when I open the etc/sudoers with vim , the file does not show me the expected result.Rather says "read-only" in the bottom part.
The tutorial said to uncomment wheel ALL=(ALL) ALL
but in read only format ,the file appears to be blank.
I don't know if I formualted my problem correctly or not because I don't know what wrong is happening or which step did I miss.
I would be grateful for any sort of help.
Thanks.

You need to edit the sudoers file as root. So the first step would be
suOnce you are root, type
EDITOR=vim visudoAnd you should be good to go.

Hi adityathombre1440,
From personal experience I know that it can be daunting to install Arch the first time when you're new to Linux. I don't want to discourage your attempt, but the only supported installation method is the one in our wiki. We don't support third-party installation guides because there are far too many of them for us to follow and almost all of them inevitably end up out-of-date, whereas the wiki is always updated. Any problems that arise from a third-party installation could depend on any number of factors.
Please start over and take the time to work through the official installation guide step by step. If you get stuck on any step in the official guide, you're welcome to open a new thread to ask for help. Takes notes of what you've done and which commands you've run. If you encounter an error, copy or note the exact error message and context.
I'm closing this thread only because the installation method that you used is unsupported. We're here to help if you follow the official guide. Good luck!
