Slow shutdown with blinking cursor

Recently installed Arch a few days ago, and I've noticed it takes a few minutes to shutdown, just showing a blank screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. Sometimes it will show

@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^

before the blinking cursor.

Re: Slow shutdown with blinking cursor

The solution in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2002155 didn't seem to fix my problem.

Re: Slow shutdown with blinking cursor

You're concurrently running dhcpcd and networkmanager. Pick one, disable the other.

The journal however shows you stumbling out of plasma and SDDM starting a new greeter during the shutdown.
=> Post one where you first log out and then shutdown from sddm.

Interestingly, there's no message from kwin *at all* during the boot …

Re: Slow shutdown with blinking cursor

I removed dhcpcd and tried the log out and shutdown method, and this was probably the quickest shutdown I've had yet. Although, I had seem someone post about this before and I had tried the log out and then shutdown and it still took way too long power off. So I'm not sure if the issue is intermittent or not.

Here is the output of

journalctl -b -1 >> ~/bootlog.txt

after trying the above mentioned.
bootlog.txt
