[SOLVED] Animations stuck at 60hz on dual monitor setup

I have two monitors connected to my amd card (5700xt), one is capable of 144hz, the other only of 60 hz. As long as the 60 hz monitor is enabled, every animation (moving windows, scrolling through text, ...)  in my desktop environment is also 60 hz. (Only mouse courser is 144hz.) If I disable my second monitor, this problem is "fixed". (I use KDE Plasma)

That's normal, you can either switch to Wayland (been running the plasma session for the last week works really well, safe for a Qt bug that renders application menu dropdowns with an offset (... on multi-monitor setups). Another thing you can try to use is the new AsyncFlipSecondaries option of the xorg modesetting driver which was implemented in an attempt to fix things like these iirc. Also, afaik the "rate to render to" is determined by which is declared as the primary output, make sure the higher refresh monitor is marked as primary.

Just installed Wayland, the issue seems to be resolved. Thanks for your help!
