Laptop wont wake up after suspend

Hi,

I run Arch on my P14s Gen2 (AMD) and installed it with the official guided installer. I use Wayland and KDE as a Desktop Environment.
I have the issue that I can't wake up my laptop after it suspended. This is reproducible by executing "systemctl suspend"
I couldn't find anything useful in journalctl or dmesg but provided the logs below.
Is there anything else I can look at? Are there any wayland logs for example?

$ sudo dmesg |grep -iE '.*(power|suspend).*'

Me too big_smile

Have you changed the sleep mode from "Windows" to "Linux" in the firmware ("BIOS") settings? I have no problems with suspend once that is configured.

Re: Laptop wont wake up after suspend

I have the same problem on wayland. X11 works just fine for me.

Re: Laptop wont wake up after suspend

@donescopeta, do you also have a ThinkPad P14s? If so have you enabled the "Linux" sleep option? I can suspend mine in both X and Wayland with that set.

Re: Laptop wont wake up after suspend

What kernel version are you on? My Dell Precision 5550 worked fine with kernels before 5.15, but will not resume after suspend with any of the 5.15 kernels I've tried.

Re: Laptop wont wake up after suspend

Blacklisting the nvidia-uvm kernel module has fixed my issues under 5.15.

Re: Laptop wont wake up after suspend

Had the same problem. Disabling Intel vt-d in the BIOS solved it for me.
