[SOLVED] Unable to create trash for my user

Auto-solved, really...

Trash was created correctly, but PCmanFM wasn`t able too reach it because the lack on my system of package gvfs. Once installed it, all is ok.

Hi all,

exploring PCmanFM, the file manager of lxde, I've seen that, if I select a file with right mouse button, there is a voice called "Move to trash". I need to delete two files, so I use it. But if I go to the Go to Trash, I found nothing.

I`ve read carefully https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Trash_management and https://specifications.freedesktop.org/ … atest.html, explored with file manager and with console my home directory, / directory (where is mounted all my system) and so on, try to create a directory .Trash-1000 (that wasn't present before) with right owner and group in / , and so on. but I couldn't find my files in any places nor see the content of newly created and trashed files here...

It's not a problem, because the files were only tries, but I want to know the right way to implement and use a trash for my user account.

Furthermore, I think that there is a lack of information in the wiki item about Trash_management (cited before), because under the paragraph Trash creation, is explained only how to use trash, not how to create it.

Can anyone tell me how to do for creating and using such trash, and if he/she have enough expertise, complete https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Trash_management for other users that have an issue like mine?

Re: [SOLVED] Unable to create trash for my user

UPDATE:

I've read the readme file of trash-cli (https://github.com/andreafrancia/trash- … README.rst), where is told that trashed files are in ~/.local/share/Trash/. And I effectiverly found it there. Now the problem is only to tell to file manager PCmanFM how to associate that directory to the trash.
