[SOLVED]Notification in DWM

Hello guys,

I wonder if i can get the same notification popup like in plasma on my dwm. I have both dwm and plasma installed.
I tried dunst but couldnot configure it as my desired plan.

So any idea about how to use knotification(which i think plasma use to show notification) on dwm.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Fairly certain knotify is tied to the plasma shell. What was your problem with dunst? You could of course use plasma and configure it to use dwm as your window manager in place of KWin: https://userbase.kde.org/Tutorials/Usin … ith_Plasma

dunst was not auto starting itself when getting notification so i thought knotifiy{only known about it after you told me} would work automatically

Re: [SOLVED]Notification in DWM

Dunst isn't supposed to/guaranteed to autostart itself. You need to start it somewhere at the beginning of your session and it will run for the remainder of it and listen to and receive notification events. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dunst#Installation

If you're using .xinitrc to start dwm add dunst & somewhere before the exec dwm line.
