[SOLVED] Keyboard problem after install - HP laptop dq200 series

Picked up new laptop, HP dq203. Following normal arch install and before even installing a graphical desktop, just booting up into terminal, the keyboard takes a long time before it works. This does not happen every boot but around 4 out of 5. Once it starts to work it's fine. I tried to blacklisted intel_vbtn as suggested in some posts I found, but that did nothing. After installing gnome and gdm service about half the time the keyboard is not yet up to put in the password.

Had more problems than usual getting everything to work (sound and wifi), but this is the last thing i have not been able to resolve. The keyboard works fine at refind boot screen and also in windows, so this is some sort of a linux issue. Any help appreciated. thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] Keyboard problem after install - HP laptop dq200 series

I was able to solve this after finding this git which uses a patch to fix the i8042 module to fix this issue.
https://github.com/berzoidberg/i8042-spectre-dkms

will mark as solved, hopefully others with this laptop can save some time
