LUKS encryption: how can I increase the No. of password attempts?

Hello,

It seems I got bad motion control, because I mistype my password a lot, e.g. accidentally hitting two keys at the same time. I don't always notice it, and grub decided that one attempt is enough and it's going into rescue mode if I fail that. It would be nice if I had maybe three attempts before it does that. Is there a way to amend this? I looked into grub configs, but I think I missed the right ones.

/etc/crypttab.initramfs is only supported by the sd-encrypt hook.

Edit: though the crypttab default is 3 failures, so not sure whether that's even relevant w/ grub's issue if it fails after one error…

I'm guessing that the OP is talking about GRUB's built in encryption, not the standard LUKS initramfs hooks?

To be honest, I'm not sure, but I guess you're correct; the decrypt prompt is the first thing I see after the Motherboard screen.
