[SOLVED] thunderbird memory usage exploding

Hi,

Since a recent update (last week) thunderbird is out of control.
It's memory usage is going from 0 to 100% of the available memory in 20 seconds.
Everything is frozen until at some point thunderbird is crashing.

Any idea how to fix it?

Using safe mode :
thunderbird -safe-mode

I could disable all the add-ons, restart and see how it behaved.
My issue was coming from the "language packs" that were installed (English US and French)
I uninstalled them without visible loss of functionality, and thunderbird is back online.
