Not sure if this is the right forum section for this, but I can't find a better fit.
dotnet-* and aspnet* packages were recently updated from 5.0.8 to 6.0.0.
Given the apparent precedent set by the existence of official *-3.1 versions of these packages I am wondering if 5.x will get the same treatment, or is 3.1 just special for some reason?
Currently I have reverted these packages to the previous versions on my existing arch install, since my dotnet core projects are still on 5.x for now.
I will likely be doing another arch install in the near future and I am wondering if I should be turning to the AUR for 5.x versions of these packages, or if something will be coming for this in the community repo soon.

dotnet-runtime-3.1 is required by emby-server see also https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=271441

There won't be any 5.x packages in the official repos.
Older versions of packages are very rarely available, this only happens if there are other packages in the repos that depend on them and can't be built with the newer version. Seeing as how there are no packages in the repos that depend on 5.x then it's not going to happen, you'll need to use the AUR instead.
Edit - Thanks loqs. That's the thread I was about to search for.
