[SOLVED] Arch unable to boot past the clean, X files, Y blocks line

But I can ctrl+alt+F2 to a tty session, no problem. I can also chroot into it from USB, no problem. I've also successfully connected to internet from the PC and updated all/reinstalled many packages that seemed like they might have been the issue.
This is on a dual boot Windows/Arch SSD. I recently got a new one and moved the SSD with Arch to a new slot on my mobo, so could there possibly be some issue of different driver assignments in config files? I have tried to 

mkinitcpio -p linux

after chrooting from USB with the SSD mounted, but this didn't seem to help.
Also, I've read about Windows on dual-boot drives messing with Arch installs, but I'm not sure about this either. Wouldn't this be resolved with updating everything through pacman?

The system boots just fine - initramfs and kernel questions are irrelevant (unless you need to add modules to your mkinitcpio.conf which has been the solution to similar errors before.  The only problem is SDDM is failing to start X:

Dec 01 03:44:19 torii sddm[681]: Attempt 1 starting the Display server on vt 1 failed

There are several results from searching for this error.  Most related to early KMS and video driver issues.

What is your GPU and which driver(s) do you use?  Have you added the relevant modules to your mkinitcpio.conf (and enabled early KMS)?

It's probably not related, but you're running networkmanager, systemd-networkd, iwd and dhcpcd - at least. ANd PIA on top of that…
Pick one network managing service and disable the other ones. Then let's see

Actually I'd not be at all surprised if that was the source of the problem.  Networking and hostname identification go hand in hand, and a failure in the latter could very well cause precisely this problem.

I'd say so, but SDDM fails three times in a row - that'd be some rotten luck there…

I have an AMD 5600xt. I have mesa, vulkan-radeon, and the others listed on https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU#Installation
Early KMS seems to be enabled in mkinitcpio.conf with the line

Went with iwd, but on checking internet connection after that, it seemed to require the DHCP client as well. When doing iwctl and viewing the output for 

station wlan0 show

, there were no ip addresses, and it asked if DHCP client was configured. So I have both iwd and dhcpcd running, and this seems to work. So, I only stopped and disabled systemd-networkd and NetworkManager.
Edit: and pia-vpn, as well as smb. I'd only used smb for migrating to this PC, I don't need it running anymore.

Did you configure Iwd#Enable_built-in_network_configuration so iwd would obtain an IP address?

You still have wpa_supplicant@wlan0.service active as well.
Edit:
If the issue is still present please post the contents of xorg.log and any xorg config files you have created.

Where is this, in the Xorg config file? How is this setting disabled? It seems odd it'd be set to something like that, as I only have one GPU.

+1 - Remove that file.
The journal has only one GPU on 0000:0c:00.0 which doesn't match any of the devices in that static server config.

This fixed it, thank you! I'm not sure where things went so wrong with that, but removing the file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf and using the auto-generation has resolved the issue.
