Hi,
When I try bmpx I get;
** (beep-media-player-2:15110): CRITICAL **: DBus Error: (org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited): Process /usr/libexec/beep-media-player-2-bin exited with status 127
dbus is running as a
echo $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
gives
unix:abstract=/tmp/dbus-LSSfd9V3B1,guid=7863294578e7a4123786d1bd31860400
Any ideas anyone??
OK, several days later, I found a post about bmpx needing neon to run. I pacmanned neon and now bmpx works.

try
dbus-launch beep-media-player
Have you tried to turn it off and on again?

That doesn't work either. The file is 'not found' I have to try
dbus-launch beep-media-player-2 which gives me the error described above.

have you solved the issue? This seems to give a clue: http://bmpx.beep-media-player.org/site/ … at_startup however I do not feel like recompiling anything

Yes I did. Apologies for not posting the solution here. All I had to do was install gstreamer0.10-mad from pacman. That's required to play mp3's. I suspect taht the crash (instead of telling you) is a bug. Anyway, that's all I had to do and it's worked ever since.
