[SOLVED] Moving hidden files/folders in ~/

Not important, but I personal don't like too many things (albeit hidden) in my home directory and I was curious what is the best way of moving these items into a new directory?

For example, firefox creates ~/.mozilla, how can I move this as a subfolder under .config (~/.config/mozilla) without breaking my firefox setup?
Does each application need to be addressed individually (i.e. 'about:setup' for firefox), is this something that would need to be manually changed and compiled, or is there some invisible symlink secret I dont know about wink

Just trying to expand my knowledge and looking for some guidance.

Thanks for your help.
Ryan

Unfortunately it's still per application at the moment although support is getting better. Read...

It hasn't changed in 18 years, but you hope it might have changed in the last month?
