no /etc/x11/xorg.conf

Hi,
I've been using ubuntu but wanted to try arch and hence installed. Then i got enlightenment and it would start with startx, but now my serial mouse is not working. I tried to find /etc/x11/xorg.conf and other config files, but it was not there at all in the directory. I formated the partition using jfs and also i have ubuntu 6.06 on another partition with which i share swap and /home and windows xp on another. Please let me what is wrong and why config files are not there where they should be.

Thanks in advance.

Re: no /etc/x11/xorg.conf

just a guess
you didnt generate/create it
as root run

xorgconfig

before doing so look at xorg from ubuntu get the fields from these sections youll need them

HorizSync
 VertRefresh
 Driver

also see the wiki more specifically this
arch allows you to build your system unlike ubuntu which has alot of stuff done for you if you want to run arch be prepared to read & learn

Re: no /etc/x11/xorg.conf

Copying your xorg.conf from Ubuntu may work perfectly (or be pretty close). Otherwise, http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … uring_xorg
