[SOLVED] Gnome Software Update & Restart not working

Hi,

I've set up a clean arch installation with Gnome 41. I also installed the gnome-software-packagekit-plugin to be able to see updates from the Arch repos in Gnome Software.

However, the "Update & Restart" feature of Gnome Software does not work, neither on my Desktop nor on my Laptop. If there are updates available, I click the 'Download' button, wait until the updated packages are downlaoded and then click 'Update & Restart". My system will restart, however I don't see any message on the splash screen. The system then immediately reboots again. After the reboot, no updates have been installed. The available updates are still shown in Gnome Software and the 'Update & Restart' button is also still there. I know that I can (and maybe am supposed to) update my system using pacman directly in the terminal, however it bugs me that this is not working.

I've installed plymouth and use the default spinner splash screen with the arch logo. But even disabling plymouth won't change anything, I still get an instant reboot and the updates are not installed.

Am I missing something? I've looked through the packagekit and Gnome sites on the Wiki but couldn't find anything related.

Re: [SOLVED] Gnome Software Update & Restart not working

Thanks! Well, guess I will ditch packagekit then.
