Sound not working on Macbook Pro (Solved)

For like 3 days now i've been trying to get sound to work on my mac i've downloaded alsa-utils and pulseaudio looked through about a thousand forums and read the wiki over quite a few times so i'm resorting to posting this so hopefully someone can help me out.

Running KDE-plasma in the audio devices tab there are no devices listed

"sudo aplay -l" results in the following output:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 8: HDMI 2 [HDMI 2]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 9: HDMI 3 [HDMI 3]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 10: HDMI 4 [HDMI 4]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

and in alsamixer the channels are all marked as s/pdif when i use the "HDA INTEL PCH" card otherwise the default is just "pulseaudio audio"

fixed myself nvm
