Hello all,
I'm finally going to have some time to redo my PVR off of knoppmyth and I want to try getting an archlinux pvr built (base system with just what I need to get MythTV up and running).
I would like to use XCFE and wanted to see if anyone out there knows is running Arch/XCFE/MythTV (or any other lightweight desktop).
Also anyone know how upto date the mythtv install doc is?
Anyway sorry for the noob question.

My HTPC is happily running Arch/MythTV/Fluxbox.
I've switched from Debian/MythTV -> Slack/MythTV -> Gentoo/MythTV -> Debian/Freevo, so I can say that Arch is the best .
Besides the documentation on the wiki you should definetely read the MythTV docs.

The app I run the most on my Arch install is Mythtv. I use Fluxbox though, just because I am used to it.

Noob here, but are there any guides out there to help someone get mythtv and fluxbox up and running?

What happened to XFCE? Installing mythtv and fluxbox should be as simple as
pacman -S fluxbox mythtv

As referenced above, look in the wiki for both fluxbox and mythtv. You should be okay following the wiki's assuming you are going to have both the frontend and backend on the same box. If you run into trouble then hit the mythtv docs (as mentioned above too). I also like gentoo's mythtv "how to".

Thanks all for the info, I'm going to try to get the wife to allocate me some free time this weekend and I'll give it a spin.
