Yesterday upgraded my netbook's arch installation and faced issues with JWM latest release 2.4.0-1 (from the official repos).
Svg icons doesn't appear as expected in menus, some of them appeared in a tiny size and some doesn't appeared at all. In taskbar they seems to be fine.
Tried to downgrade librsvg (the lib responsible for svg appearance) but it didn't worked. Jwm session refused to start, so i brought back the updated one.
Then i downgraded JWM from cache (v. 2.3.7-3) and my desktop went back to normal.
It's just to know, as i marked JWM as an ignored package (IgnorePkg = jwm) in pacman.conf, my desktop works fine and i'm waiting for a new release of jwm to test.
Edit:There's an issue reported about icon filenames with a dot (https://github.com/joewing/jwm/issues/536). It isn't related with my case as my icon filenames contains no dots.
Edit1:Another issue i faced, reported as well: https://github.com/joewing/jwm/issues/534
Edit2: Latest JWM came from the community repos (https://archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/jwm/)

And here I was already wondering why X and JWM would no longer start anymore. I had not noticed that recent JWM upgrade. Oh well, time to downgrade then...

P.S. I have found an easy fix for 2.4.0. Just use something different for the menu bar icon instead of the SVG:
<TrayButton label="JWM">root:1</TrayButton>
Something seems to be going wrong with SVG parsing in 2.4.0, so the image size for jwm-blue.svg is reported as 0x0, which causes the crash...

Thanx but i use already something else (an arch icon svg i made on inkscape). This one was ok but the rest are tiny or disappeared.

Yes, I don't use any other icons in the JWM menu, so the task bar icon was the only one for me. But for now I have reverted to 2.3.7 because I also noticed another issue (corrupted screen pixels) in 2.4.0. That version seems to be a bit buggy in general.
But the good news is that the icon issue should be fixed in 2.4.1: https://github.com/joewing/jwm/issues/5 … -997125987

Few other distros have JWM 2.4.0 at this point, so I think it's kind of self-selecting.
Arch: the canary in a coalmine for all other distros since 2002... :-)
