Libreoffice is problematic and slow in persian/arabic documents

In my Archlinux i installed libreoffice-fresh package
there is no problem when working on English language documents, but if my document is Persian or Arabic, libreoffice Writer and libreoffice Impress will slow down and other problems will occur.

Is this an error of Persian fonts Or LibreOffice is inherently problematic with Arabic Persian ?

this is my libreoffice information

Version: 7.1.8.1 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 10(Build:1)
CPU threads: 6; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
7.1.8-3
Calc: threaded

Re: Libreoffice is problematic and slow in persian/arabic documents

It's probably not about the font but that the document is RTL (ie. because you're writing the wrong direction tongue )
You could try a LTR Fārsi document, https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/changing- … tr/52739/6

Yes and I suspect it to be slow *because* you're on RTL and suggest to confirm that by trying LTR Fārsi (w/ the link as guide how to do that)

Re: Libreoffice is problematic and slow in persian/arabic documents

There are some speed bugs with RTL documents:

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/sho … i?id=64991 (for opening large RTL docs)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/sho … i?id=80788 <-- this was closed, maybe because it was too old and nobody verified it was still a bug?
If you have a dictionary for your rtl languages installed, maybe try to disable/remove that.

It's not about RTL or LTR ... When I write Persian and I am even LTR , it is still slowly... its about persian/Arabic or not !
Another problem is slowing down when zooming or zoom out on document ! it's very very slow when i have only 3 page document in libreoffice writer

Zooming in/out in Fārsi or even in English?

On a hunch:

glxinfo -B

Did you try the binary nvidia driver?

Yes. At first I was on the nvidia driver and later I migrated to nuoveau.

Re: Libreoffice is problematic and slow in persian/arabic documents

I don't see how this squares w/ your assertion to have used the "same driver" and libreoffice version on fedora, but if it's not the GPU, not libreoffice and not the RTL condition you're indeed pretty much left w/ the font and therefore should compare the font you use (for Fārsi glyphs) on arch and fedora - though it's beyond me how this could have any performance impact. But then, I also don't write much Fārsi…

yes i tested on fedora and archlinux in same modes. fonts , drivers , libreoffice version and ... was same.
Also i discovered something else that might be related to this problem .
when i play audio file in vlc media player and when I want to move audio time forward the sound emitted from the system is lagged and i checked

htop

And I saw the CPU usage go up for a few seconds
