Upgrading Radeon GPUs. Compatibility?

Hey there. I'm considering upgrading my machine's GPU.

Currently I have a Sapphire Radeon RX 580 8 GB PULSE Video Card and I want to upgrade it to a PowerColor Red Dragon AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT.

Should everything just work out of the box because I'm already using the vulkan radeon graphics?

i tend to only get lockups when doing quirky things like running farcry6 in proton, or pushing envelope trying to make tweaks to new games running in proton myself though on my  5700
