Ok who is maintainer of xchat-gnome!! 0.13 was released in July and is flagged out of date since months too. Come up and work!
...../ironic mode off
But seriously, i think we should import s.th. like a DB or up2date thing that checks 2,3 times a day or so which package is out of date. :?
One thing that is in arch > slack is/was for me, not to check myself every page for a new version and compile. You also get this bad feeling when s.th. is out of date in such a distro dont ya ![]()

The dev interface has functionality listing the latest freshmeat version of packages if it exists.

Yeah, but that one isn't including all packages i guess
Like previously discussed there should be an arch solution for this imo, saying outdated packages like this one a goodbye 8)

I think you are mixing up two things. Knowing that a package is out-of-date is one thing but to actually do the update is another thing. The flag out-of-date button and the freshmeat rss informs about the package but if the devs are too busy to do the update, then nothing happens. The solution for these out-of-date packages is to have more devs. Recently, 5 new devs were added so we can expect that they will decrease the workload of the other devs.

four
But yeah, generally snowman's right. Some of these new guys are going to focus on pretty specific items (anyone looked at unstable lately? :-D ), but everybody picks up some general packages too.
The suggestion box only accepts patches.

Well, ok was a bit confused at that very moment :?
Anyway, it looked just horrible old becaue of July u know
Sure i got it upgraded with ABS already, but as mentioned it is the "check yourself the homepage for new version & maybe upgrade" thing that leaves a bad feeling about the bleeding edge state, which arch claims to be. This probably was also reason for starting this thread because i was somewhat shocked  about this out of date package in a tree like extra!
But ive got good hopes now that things will gettin more quicker again. By the way, seriously, are maintainer of packages needed? I would be on board from now if anyhow possible 8)
