Gensplash?

I am wondering if anyone has had a try at adpting this to Arch64.

With regard to install cd's, I know this isn't really the arch way of doing things. But?

Re: Gensplash?

That's community / AUR stuff. It's up to you or the TUs to make these packages.

Re: Gensplash?

Should have realised I was off topic... sorry. It's just that it seems not to involve patching the kernel anymore (judging form the mailing list), and therefore seems more straightforward than it was. I (personally) would not want to try an arch64 pkgbuild.

Re: Gensplash?

Did someone already give a try to gensplash with arch64 ?

Success ?

I'm starting to find arch64 good, and now I trying to make it sweet. wink

Are you game? If so I will get involved, too.

I was really impressed with the splash screen Gentoo have, and wonder if not a splash screen could become a standard for Arch, too.

But lets hang on a while, 'cause someone out there may have already done it!

Re: Gensplash?

Hi !

I've tried to compile the package from Spock's devsite (http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/projects/gensplash/), but without success.  Here the error I get ... maybe you have an idea ! (All dependancies are met)

# ./configure --default
config.h successfully created.
You can run `make` now.

# make QUIET=false
checking for gcc... klcc
checking whether the C compiler (klcc -w -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -I/home/xor/Desktop/splashutils-1.3/libs/zlib-1.2.3 -I/home/xor/Desktop/splashutils-1.3/libs/freetype-2.1.9/include -DWITH_ERRLIST -DTARGET_KERNEL -DTT_CONFIG_OPTION_BYTECODE_INTERPRETER -I/home/xor/Desktop/splashutils-1.3/objs/jpeglib ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.

make[1]: quittant le répertoire « /home/xor/Desktop/splashutils-1.3/objs/jpeglib »
make: *** [jpeglib] Erreur 2

And I'm logged as root to compile it.

Re: Gensplash?

Same problem here - I have been unable to rebuild for [community] since a recent update.  Go figure.
