Hi all,
I installed oh-my-zsh-git from AUR and copied the .zshrc file.
cp /usr/share/oh-my-zsh/zshrc ~/.zshr
In the .zshrc I set the following.
#ZSH_THEME="robbyrussell"
ZSH_THEME="random"
Now, whenever I open a new shell, it prints out [oh-my-zsh] Random theme 'random theme name' loaded but it doesn't actually change the theme. Note that even robbyrussell theme isn't working.
Any idea why that could happen?

The jokes are going to write themselves on this …
According to the AUR the zshrc patch of the package fails what means the zshrc you copied over is likely as bogus as the rest of OMZ, please post the actual file.

This is it.

All patches in that AUR change that, but I'd try to "export ZSH=…" as does upstream

I have the exact same problem with the upstream version.

If you add the themes plugin, can you change the theme at runtime?
To answer your pre-edit question: the general advise is to not use OMZ at all, because it's a broken mess (you can search the forum for comments on that)

Alright, I think it's better without OMZ. Thank you
