[SOLVED] Optimus-Manager not Working, NVIDIA-Legacy Driver (390.xx) |

Switching to nvidia gives black screen. GPU offloading does not work in hybrid mode.

System info

-  5.15.12-arch1-1
- i3-wm

Graphics Processor Present :

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

pacman -Q | grep nvidia
nvidia-390xx 390.147-1
nvidia-390xx-settings 390.147-1
nvidia-390xx-utils 390.147-1
opencl-nvidia-390xx 390.147-1

latest drivers are not supported, using legacy 390.147-1

 optimus-manager --status

gives :

and post the output.

The nvidia chip isn't even listed. What's the corresponding xorg log?

Re: [SOLVED] Optimus-Manager not Working, NVIDIA-Legacy Driver (390.xx) |

The first log tries to use the nvidia chip and the 2nd one deactivates it.
Remove optimus manager, start an unconfigured X11 server and post the logs for that as well as "xrandr --listproviders"
I'm not sure this is an optimus system at all...

Hello,
managed to use NVIDIA graphics only by referring to https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … phics_only.
Thank You For All your help seth.

$ xrandr --listproviders
Providers: number : 2
Provider 0: id: 0x278 cap: 0x1, Source Output crtcs: 2 outputs: 1 associated providers: 1 name:NVIDIA-0
Provider 1: id: 0x2c4 cap: 0xf, Source Output, Sink Output, Source Offload, Sink Offload crtcs: 2 outputs: 4 associated providers: 1 name:modesetting

$ glxinfo|egrep "OpenGL vendor|OpenGL renderer"
OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GT 620M/PCIe/SSE2
