Do you suspect those downloads to contain malware? Why?
Downloading them does nothing.
Extracting them does nothing.

There might be malicious programs inside and if you intend to run them you need to make sure it's not malware.
You should™ not run stuff from untrusworthy sources, but if you intend to do so you certainly should run a virusscan on them.

OT: There's clamav in the repos, but it's been some time, since I used it.
brain.sh does a much better job.

so it's not about a malicious archive but malicious content (since he already knows the content)
Also yeah, you're running out of disk space - nasty but not a permanent issue.
